The Church of the Holy Spirit is a rural Episcopal parish located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, near the college town of Mars Hill in Madison County, which is north of Asheville. Directions for getting here.
This is a welcoming, loving Christian community, committed to serving God, one another and our neighbors. Many have come to Holy Spirit from other denominations, choosing this parish for its warm Christian community and its commitment to service. We accept others for who they are and welcome anyone, regardless of their social, political, and theological views. Come visit us soon. Here's when we get together:
10:30am Eucharistic Service
Children's and Youth Sunday School happen after Eucharist.
First Wednesdays During Lent
Each Wednesday through Lent features a program on the theme of a spiritual rule of life. This follows a simple soup and bread meal. The meal starts at 5:45 and the program begins at 6:45. The March 29 program is "Franciscan Spirituality as a Rule of Life," presented by Gary Mongillis. The April 5 program, "Ignatian Spirituality as a Rule of Life," will be presented by Bishop José McLaughlin.
